Inspector of Work (IOW)

Core Roles

• To check construction drawings for any discrepancies and to coordinate with relevant consultants.
• Site pre-construction, in process and post-construction and post-construction inspection/ testing of works.
• To monitor construction work progress and coordinate with consultants and contractor for any site issues.
• To attend progress site meetings and site evaluation with Consultants and Contractors.
• Preparation of Weekly Site Reports.
• To ensure all construction works on site with quality workmanship/ materials and complies with the Drawings Specifications and in accordance to department's procedures.
• To attend inspection with Authority for Certificate of Compliance & Completion (CCC).
• To monitor the defects works during construction and after vacant possession (VP).
• To liaise with contractors, authorities, and project consultants on all technical, day-to-day operations and to ensure conformance to project quality plan and specifications.
• To familiarize with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, to check and using it as reference when inspecting the work.
• To identify technical problems on site and to recommend corrective action to superior.
• To supervise, witness the testing, commissioning until completion of concreting works at site.
• To monitor maintenance inspection conducted by Consultant during Defect Liability Period.
• To ensure all construction work are on time.
• To prepare SPA stage claim on weekly basis and follow up with Architect for certification.
• Undertakes any other tasks and assignments as directed by the Management.

Requirements

• Post Graduate Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management/ Building Management/ Quantity Surveyor/ Structural/ Architectural or any equivalent discipline.
• Two to five (2-5) years’ experience with exposure in project and construction Management, township development, or other relevant experiences.
• Familiarity in construction industry related issues.
• Computer literate (Microsoft office, Microsoft Project, Autocad)
• Technically competent.
